| Subject: where is 'silicon valley' in Canada? |
I do marketing in telecom/IT industry, and used to live in Northern California and Texas. I am trying to find out where in Canada there is higher concentration of tech firms.

Sorry to dissapoint you, but your foreign education and experience make your skills equivalent to a canadian high school graduate. Most jobs in Canada are in the resources industry or in the social welfare sector. No software is produced.

Vijay has no idea what he is talking about! Sorry. I can only speak about BC because that is all I know.
BC has a large tech sector. A BC company just landed a huge tech contract with NASA. we are big with the movie and gaming animators. We have work... but don´t think you will come and build websites and don´t think the tech jobs grow on trees. If you work experience makes you specialized, I also think you will have a better time.
There is not jobs for every immigration applicant that has IT training - that is for sure but that was not your question. You have seen what has happened in Silicon Valley - things are no different here. If your language skills are excellent, and your job skills are verifiable, I think you will do just fine - BC or anywhere else.
