Subject: Can an excpetion be asked for two years residency |

To complete two yrs. residency, I need to move to Canad by end of this March.
I plan to move end March but my family cannot move before the end of school year that ends on June 29th! They will be short by 3 months for the PR renewal later on in 2010.
Should I just ask/tell the Canadian Immigration authorities now in advance about the situation or should I worry about this closer to the end of March 2010 when we´ll have to renew PR cards for next 5 yrs.
We have full intent to be a citizens.
Please advise

(in reply to: Can an excpetion be asked for two years residency) Exception can only be made on humanitarian grounds. I do not think that your case falls under one.
You better try to move first and preserve your PR and if your family eventually loses the PR status you can file a sponsorship application.
Another thing, validity of PR card is irrelevant. Your residency requirement starts the day you land as a PR and not from the date of issue of PR.
Best is to take advice from a professional.
