  Hi Friends

I have Query, as I became PR of Canada on 07 Nov 2008 and came back to India on 8 Dec 2008. I want to visit U.S.A.

1 I am working here in MNC in India. Can I apply for U.S visa at new Delhi high commission ? I want to spend some time with my cousins.

2 What are the chances of getting me U.S Visa ? I have traveled to U.K as well on work permit a yea ago.

3 Can U.S Consular ask me questions regarding why i came back after becoming PR in Canada,if so what can i say ?

4 Can I enter into Canada from U.S ?

5 What all things i need to say or do in order to convince consular ?

6 can U.S consular ask me that i need to apply U.S visa from Canada ?

Please advice!!!!!

1. Yes, you can apply.

2. Depends on your documentation. Since you are working, have a history of travelling abroad and are a permanent resident of Cananda, your chances are high.

3. Unlikely, but you can always say you are planning to move permanently at a later date.

4. If you have a PR card then you can enter Canada from anywhere, else you need a travel document or enter via road.

5. You can apply from either your country of citizenship or country where you are residing on a long term basis. So, you can apply from India.

All said, final decision lies with the visa officer and your documents.

None can warrant about getting visa, especially US ones.

Nationality is a big deal, India is in US good book unlike Pak.

Your UK travel is also a big plus.

Be prepare to show your financial support (bank statements....properties...your strong family ties in India...). Be prepare to show that you´ll come back into India or Canada, this is the bottom line of getting the visitor visa. These are the deciding factors.

Your Canadian PR ship will have very little impact, you are free to apply from both India or Canada. However, where are you now residing and working should determine.

Your Canadain PR has a big impact..Indian with PR is unlike Indian without PR. Make sure you show it at the first document in your list.

Make sure that your supporting docs are strong enough, no mater how many visa´s you have on your pp.
