Subject: Change of Address/Country
Hi.

I am in US right now and applied to buffalo , New york last september. Last week I got my file number. Now if I move back to my country, can I process from there? What are the risks associated?

Any reply will be highly appreciated.

Thanks!
Paras.

It depends, some people had their files transferred once they updated Buffalo about their move. So, best is to keep a mailing address in US.

Yes, you can do medicals with any designated medical practitioner.

So it seems I can give CIC the US address and do everything from my country without physically being present in the US. correct?

Yes, it is possible but countries like India do not allow international mailing of passport, so you need to make arrangements for visa stamping.

That seems to be risky to mail passport. Does the passport stamping must be done at buffalo? I am from Nepal.

The stamping will be done in US only. You need to check the custom regulations in Nepal. If it is not allowed, then either you can travel to US for stamping and land as a PR during the same trip or you can ask someone travelling to US to carry your passports and return the same way.

Does UPS or FedEx work?

Mailing covers all. If customs do not allow regular mail, they will also not allow couriers, etc.

I guess there should be no issue not to allow regular mails by custom if I understood you correctly.
