My girlfriend has master and PhD from USA Ive League School, she has worked there for 2 years, she can get
80 points on federal skilled immigration program to Canada. She is not US citizen, she works there on H1 visa as university professor.
We´ll be married this summer and we will be abroad for 4 months, summer semester. Neither of us will work that time.
Which is faster way to get permanent resident status, as skilled worker or as my spouse?

Spouse ~ provided you are able to provide proof of the development of the relationship and there is no question about the genuineness, this will be by far the faster route.

Thank you very much.
What are her chances to get faster PR if I don´t have permanent job in Canada because at the time when she apply
we are somewhere in Europe?
Even I will not have permanent address in Canada this year, we will be together in USA and Europe.
Can I sponsor her? How much money? Where to show? Canadian savings or any US or European banks are OK?
How long does it take to get PR status?
1) If I sponsor her...
2) If she applies for PR status on her own?
Any other opinion?
Thank you everybody.

Thanks.
What do you think about Alberta program for H1B visa holders? It says that she could get PR status in Alberta as H1B holder.
Latter she can move here in Toronto.
How long does it take from application date to approval date?Everything is ready, we could apply in one week...

Thank you everybody again, this is a great web site!
I spend last night reading many interesting stories.
