Subject: Parent Sponsorship: Banks statements and income!!!
  Dear Forum experts and memebers,

I am sponsoring parents, and process is now almost towards its end. Medical have come back, and we were waiting for passport request. Until a couple of days ago when father received a phone call from consulate requesting that he comes in person and brings income documentation, assets, bank statements for the last 4 years.

Questions:
Is it normal for sponsored parents to be asked to provide income and asset verification at end of process?

What should he expect? No interview was requested, and other family members accompanying him were not asked to come along to the consulate.

FYI. Father currently has some real estate investments and that´s what was listed as his main source of income. He was a merchant 12 years before, and had a carpernter job before that.

The last letter received 3 months before was for medicals which were done for all three. Letter indicated that process is almost complete and that taking and passing medicals was the last phase. So they were waiting for passport request.

So, don´t know if this is an interview, or need to review father capability to earn income in Canada which is weird since I am sponsorsing him, or rather to assess his assets and find out how much will be transferrable to Canada?

Any insightful feedback of what he is to expect is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thank you
