I am a Canadian citizen working and living in the US. I want to sponsor my wife for permanet resident status in Canada.
As a general rule, I must reside in Canada and continue to do so when the person I want to sponsor would become a permanent resident. However, there is an exception to this rule. According to section 130(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, a sponsor who is a Canadian citizen and does not reside in Canada may sponsor their spouse if the sponsor will reside in Canada when the applicant becomes a permanent resident.
Therefore, in as much as I am living outside of Canada presently, I will be able to sponsor my spouse as long as I can prove that I will return to Canada once my spouse acquires permanent resident status in Canada.
My question is, what conditions would Immigration Canada would want me to satisfy in order to prove that I will return to Canada once my spouse gets her PR.

We are doing this same app right now as well. I am the canadian. I am using the deed to our house and land tax bill, I kept all my canadian credit cards, bank accounts, drivers license as well.
You can use a job offer, entry in a college or uni. Rental agreement, deed, letter from family that you have a place to stay once you return, it does say on app what is acceptable.

You can also prove that whatever business you have the country of residence is coming to conclusion.Many times it is hard to show relocation plans when there is no concrete time frame for the immigration process.
