i am planning to land as an immigrants shortly.I am applying for jobs posted on net jobsites.Do they consider the people who still outside Canada?
Any tips helpful how to attract the employers. I am an engineer in oil refining business.If I do not get a job in my profession what other possible jobs I may do to support my living.
Please help.

Now if you can not find a job in your profesion you will find other jobs here in Canada is not problem
Now here in Canada are people like you (engineers or doctors or other) who come in Canada and did not find a job in their profession and prety well they are doing other jobs like
Taxi driver all night round the city or Landscaping(gardening)or Pizza man
or you can delivery pizza or newspaper or you can work at TimHortons or MCdonalds
There are lots a jobs here in Canada you just must have the wish to work

Ali: one thing for sure is u have to be patient...very patient and smart. direct ur job search very well. if u´re single u wouldn´t have asmuch hard time as married man with a family because the first few months are tough like everywhere else. if u´re married and have kids i stongly suggest u land first and then ur family can join u before the visa expires. this will give u time to look for a job.
in ur field i think u will eventually find a job as en engineer...but u can settle for something little less to get u started with the companies ...
u might have to do other jobs at first to make money to survive...but dont listen to "starvimocku" whatever his name is...thats just some bullshit talk...i wonder what he does for a living

Had it not been recession time, it would not have been difficult to find jobs. As it is pointed out, be patient and till such time you get a job of your profession, be ready to do any other jobs to maintain.

I would tell you to look in to websites www.eluta.com (look specifically for jobs in Alberta and oil related jobs. I am sure you will find jobs of your profession!!
