I have applied my father´s immigration under H&C reasons and was granted on April 18, 2008. Then he did regular medical exam on April 26 and 2-Dimensional M-Mode Echocardiogram on July 12, 2008 but since then (9 months already) we didn´t hear any news from CIC. He is already 86 years old and couldn´t buy any traveler insurance, also he couldn´t leave Canada because the decision is pending. I even asked MP in my area to ask CIC about the case but CIC replied the case is still processing.
I don´t know what else I can do. Anybody has any suggestion? Please help.

just prey. Sometimes when results are not clear, they wait for a whole year and then request the applicant for another medical exam.
For medical, try to find any community health centre in your city/town/county. They will not charge your dad for medical check-ups.
what was the time frame for your dad´s H & C application???

Teresa: You said your dad couldn´t leave Canada because the decision is pending - that means he could apply from his home country ... your dad may be refused. You being approved as a sponsor is irrelevant - anybody who meets the sponsorship requirements can sponsor. The H & C is on your dad and there has to be sound reasons why he couldn´t apply from back home, like every immigrants who sponsored their parents. Don´t be surprised that his application will take 4 to 6 years to arrive at a decision because parents / grandparents category is not a priority, and age is not really a H & C factor ... if that is what you have invoked for an in-Canada H & C application.
