| Subject: Does CIC verify IELTS result with british council? |

My question is,,,
What is way of CIC to verify if IELTS result card is orignal, do they call ot contact to British concil for verify the results of candidate or just they follow orignal sheets as standard check?? Immigration of Canada for is matter of death and life really. Its last hope of my life,
I did IELTS today, my speaking test went good, but listening and all other very bad. Just in case above??/ please need clarification. thanks to all.

The results are sent directly to the CIC. If you are satisfied with the results, you have to submit a written request to the IELTS center to send the results directly to the CIC. They have to list your file number on the score report so that CIC can add your result to your file.
If not happy with the result, do not ask IELTS to send the result to the CIC. Schedule another another test and take it again after a good study and preparation. If you results with low scores are sent to the CIC, this may harm you.

Thank you for your reply and advise. Sorry but my question is still there,
Do you think CIC verify IELTS results by contating British Counsil or they give points just on orignal IELTS results, means no verification ?

I don´t think you need to worry about how they conduct business. What matters most to you is to focus on having good grades. As he/she said, you can wait until you get good results to submit. I recall submitting my test results at initial application. Therefore, I didn´t have a file number to ask IELTS to forward result to CIC.
They haven´t asked me about the results I submitted. But that doesn´t mean they have not verified them.

Dear HopetoCanada,
IELTS Results are always verified, there is a TRF Number on each Result Card through your result can be verified online, I mean without even sending a copy to British Council.
Selected organizations like CIC, Australian Migration Authorities and even universities have the access to Online verifying facility.
