are you muslim? if so, I highly doubt that anyone would take your fear of persecution seriously. are you specifically in fear for your life? that is a lot different than discontent with the possible inconvenience of needing to be careful what you say and where you say it.

why not just apply for a student visa and be done with it. once your finished school you apply as a skilled worker.

once CIC thinks you are playing all the quick and easy angles they will make your application a living hell.

Try to find a nice Canadian girl and marry her. You will do fine with immigration after that.

My first question would be, why are you applying for asylum til now? I mean, as soon as you arrived in Canada you didn´t apply for it. Why didn´t you? If there is a real fear for your life.

Have you been treated unfairly in your home country in the past where you felt that your life was in danger?

You are better off, applying for a work permit once you are done with your school and start from there to obtain your PR status.

Under the refugee program things may work out very well or can go south pretty fast.

Cheers,

Bill

Actually there is no fear for my life
but yes we have treated unfairly in my home country
and in the past few months there was some problem

if u want to know more u can read this

Members of the Shi?a minority are the subjects of officially sanctioned political and economic discrimination. The authorities permit the celebration of the Shi?a holiday of Ashura in the eastern province city of Qatif, provided that the celebrants do not undertake large, public marches or engage in self-flagellation (a traditional Shi?a practice). The celebrations are monitored by the police. In 2002 observance of Ashura took place without incident in Qatif. No other Ashura celebrations are permitted in the country, and many Shi?a travel to Qatif or to Bahrain to participate in Ashura celebrations. The Government continued to enforce other restrictions on the Shi?a community, such as banning Shi?a books.

Shi?a have declined government offers to build state-supported mosques because they fear the Government would prohibit the incorporation and display of Shi?a motifs in any such mosques. The Government seldom permits private construction of Shi?a mosques. In March 2001, religious police reportedly closed a Shi?a mosque in Hofuf because it had been built without government permission.

Members of the Shi?a minority are discriminated against in government employment, especially with respect to positions that relate to national security, such as in the military or in the Ministry of the Interior. The Government restricts employment of Shi?a in the oil and petrochemical industries. The Government also discriminates against Shi?a in higher education through unofficial restrictions on the number of Shi?a admitted to universities.

Under the provisions of Shari?a law as practiced in the country, judges may discount the testimony of people who are not practicing Muslims or who do not adhere to the official interpretation of Islam. Legal sources report that testimony by Shi?a is often ignored in courts of law or is deemed to have less weight than testimony by Sunnis. For example, in May 2001, a judge in the eastern province ruled that the testimony of two Shi´a witnesses to an automobile accident was inadmissible.[citation needed] Sentencing under the legal system is not uniform. Laws and regulations state that defendants should be treated equally; however, under Shari?a as interpreted and applied in the country, crimes against Muslims may result in harsher penalties than those against non-Muslims. Observers believe that the new Criminal Procedure Law, passed in late 2001 and became effective on May 1, 2002, should give fairer treatment to all defendants.

Customs officials routinely open mail and shipments to search for contraband, including non-Muslim materials, such as Bibles and religious videotapes. Such materials are subject to confiscation, although rules appear to be applied arbitrarily.

Islamic religious education is mandatory in public schools at all levels. All public school children receive religious instruction that conforms with the official version of Islam. Non-Muslim students in private schools are not required to study Islam. No private religious schools are permitted for non-Muslims or for Muslims adhering to unofficial interpretations of Islam.[1] In the westernized schools operated for Saudi Aramco employees the Islamic education is often a semi-annual introductory course, sometimes taught in conjunction with a brief historical outline of Christianity and Judaism.[citation needed]

Saudi religious police recently detained Shiite pilgrims participating in the Haj, allegedly calling them "infidels in Mecca.

then I am at a loss why you think yo qualify for political asylum. How many Shia are in Saudi Arabia? Should Canada accept all of them under the same criteria or would you be better off going to some where like Iran where Shia are in the majority.

If you think I am being harsh, you have no concept of what CIC will say to you.

dual citizenship; political asylum (in reply to: political asylum)
I would like to know how to seek and obtain dual citizenship, i.e. canadian and united states, and/or I would like facts and details on how I must go about seeking political asylum from the U.S. Government because of how I´ve been consistent treated by its Jim Crow laws, disparate treatment and disenfranchisment, amongst other things, that consistent place me at an extreme disadvantage in the United States? I´m not muslim--just a poor disabled Black Person whose ancestry is one generation from slavery. I was born in the United States, yet I am not given the same opportunities as other U.S. citizens or even illegal aliens for that matter.
The United States Selective Service System has denaturalized my rights as a whole; therefore, consistently scorned by racial practices under the guise of the law to place me at a very dangerous disadvantage. For Example: the State of Indiana has permitted my first child to be literally killed by white-supremacist, inasmuch as they are permitted to phone my home and fire gunshots through my phone to threaten me, without any prosecution. I´ve been deprived of the right to receive government grants that would have otherwise assisted my efforts to go to college or other matters government grants are given that would otherwise bear fruits of financial success, etc... I´m consistently harassed by the police or their covert racist society. I tell you this is very unfair to say the least! So, due to the foresaid in a nutshell, I would love to learn more about Canada and how I may seek a dual citizenship if not seek political asylum from being lynched here in the United States any further.
