I would like to sponsor my husband who is living illegally in Germany. Should he go back to his country (Yugoslavia) before I begin the sponsorship process? The application states he needs police clearances from everywhere he has lived, but if he is residing there illegally what does he need to do? Also, the application doesn´t have any listings for qualified medical examiners in his country, so where should he go if he chooses to move back?

Draga Sandra,
I suggest he goes back, do you think Canada or any other country would like to bring people here who are iligally doing something? Probably not, unless he can´t go back for a reason. It may work for you to sponsor him in Germany, but it would be easier if he goes back to Yugoslavia and you do it from there. I know a couple who came from (Bosnia), they had similar situation but it took them 3 months and she was here.

dear cynthia...
do you have any idea what you are exposing yourself to? thousands of dollars in potential debt to the Canadian and provincial government if the guy is a loser (and any guy that takes up your offer is definitely a looser). you risk being charged with fraud and you lose the opportunity to sponsor for love. no amount of money can compensate you for the risk you take.

yes cynthia robertson, you´re BF needs to file for tourist visa to be able to get to canada and for you to get married. or go to his country for you to get merried.
sharons answer is annoying, she doesn´t get your point.
