Subject: Tax refunds
Does anybody know in which states did we get tax returns at the year end?????.I heared that in Quebec we didn´t recieve tax returns is it true ????????.

In ontario we will get tax return every year at the year ending.Yes it is true we will not get tax returns in quebec.

this thread confuses me. Citizens in every province must file federal and provincial tax returns. If at the end of the year it turns out that you have over paid...you get a refund. If you underpaid - you are required to write the government a cheque.

I do not understand the orginal posters question and the replies are equally confusing

Do you mean GST credit or something else, because there are too many returns format, I don´t know which one you wanna ask

guys I am a student in montreal and I am expecting to get the PR soon(may be in three or four months) hopefuly not more..

and I paid alot and alot of taxes does the government return those taxes to me when I get the PR?( I mean the taxes that I paid while I am a student in montreal)

taxes are taxes. PR does not change how much you owe the government on your earnings.

Yep, please notice that custom and revenue of Canada would not consider your immigration status towards tax payment. As long as you have SIN, depend on income level, temporary resident or PR and citizen actually has no different towards tax return and payment. Because Tax and Revenue of Canada considers everybody are Canadian residents.

You can claim your tuition fee as tax-deductible items when you write T4. You can claim that in order to have less amount of federal income tax, however, you don?t get down back. Furthermore, if you don?t have job, then you don?t even get them back too.
