Subject: Autistic Child
Hi everybody

I have an autistic child aging around 10. Can I immigrate to Canada under skilled worker class. I have over 12 years of experiance in managerial occupation (under NOC 0)

The medical condition will be asessed once you have passed the selection criteria. then a Psychology test of the child will be needed for the Medical officers. This is rather complicated. See operation bulletiin 063 and see this web page: http://www.canadianimmigrant.ca/health/healthinsurancecoverage/article/2532

good luck!

Points for Education (in reply to: Autistic Child)
Thanks for the response. I have another problem I have two diplams after qualifying my secondary school exam. One for 3 years and another for 2 years. I am confused, what will be my schooling i.e 13 years or 15 years. Both the diplomas are equivalent to each other but are in seperate trades.

Salman, something to keep in mind. There is a huge fight going on between parents of autistic children and the various governments to have services covered for things such as special educational and behavioural therapies. Currently it is not covered and very, very expensive.

I can´t speak about your child´s medical approval by CIC - just want you to know that there will be some challenges with appropriate support for him once you arrive.

Thanks Sharon. Then what should we do. Should we apply immigration and lets see what happen. If the child is not allowed what can be the possible legal battle. All this is very important for us because we cannot leave the boy alone.

I want to know the possibilities with me if CIC refuses. It is to be noted that my sister and cousin are already in Canada. Can we think of any help from them.

I would apply and see what happenes, all the while having a very realistic awareness that you have some challenges before and after your approval. The answer is automatically no if you do not apply!

under the new system, you will know fairly quickly which is a whole lot better than the years and years it was taking before. They will want some sort of medical information about your child to determine the severity of the autism - so if you don´t have that...you may want to try and pull it together. Good luck.

IELTS Results (in reply to: Autistic Child)
I have appeared for IELTS. The result will be 4 days before my final deadline for submission of documents. What should I do if the band is lower than required. Should I delay submission or submit remaining docs without result requesting high commission to allow it later on??
