Everywhere is the same; depend on how you regard your career goals. Like me, I don?t even have full-time job back to my own country since I am kind of young. I think good communication skills and out-going personality do help you.

What is your area of working in the US? Specialty traits are equally good in Canada. If u are in IT or Banking or engineering, then yes, this experience does counts. But again it should be between mid-higher levels. My friend who was a college pass out and had just 1 year of IT experience in the US had to struggle for 6 months before he could get a break in Canada. So, it all depends on your contacts that u make after u land there. Knowing someone already there will definitely help in your job search process. Luck also plays its role.

of course it does. Canadian employers can relate to the US business culture. they can verify the company very easily and can relate to your job experience. Do not be concerned. Be prepared to show how your skills are applicable in Canada - and know the Canadian market. that is all you need.

the word personal connections is a very frightening word to a new immigrant. When we say connection it can be as simple as your landlord knowing about a job with his friend. ´You should go´ it can be as easy as the staff person at the bank suggesting you apply while you open up your first Canadian bank account. (this really happened to someone). The secret is to consider everyone you meet a possible connection to a job. Very often jobs are not posted in the paper - your connections or network that you establish is the best way to find this kind of opportunity.
