Subject: Spouse Leaving Canada
I have a friend who is married to a guy in Canada. Her permanent residence card (green card for USA people) is being processed. In the mean time she wants to leave Canada to she her family in another country (Moldova). Is there a form they can submit so she can leave the country and come back legally? If she leaves now, she can´t return to Canada because she hasn´t got her permanent residence card.

There is no form. She runs the risk of not being let back in without the card and it is 98% chance that this will happen. If she cannot wait, she can leave but her PR card will need to be sent to her before re-entry.

If you wish to return to Canada and don’t have a valid Permanent Resident Card, you will need to obtain a permanent resident travel document from a Canadian visa office abroad.

Good luck!
