| Subject: Status of Application to Centralized Intake Office |

Hi Guys,
I hope you can help me with my inquiries...
I am from dubai, UAE(expat) and I sent my application as a skilled worker in Nova Scotia and they received, as per my courier, it on April 16, 2009, but till now, June 7, 2009, i have not received any confirmation from the Centralized Intake Office whether i am qualified or not. it is almost 2 months now since they received my letter, and i am bothered about it. is there any delay in the process? may i know what is their normal processing time? How can i contact CIO regarding this matter? do they have a hotline no. where we can call? How may days am i going to wait for their confirmation? & what will happen if i am not able to receive their confirmation because it was lost or misplaced by mail?
Please help me with my inquiries so that i will have peace of mind, and so that i will know what should i suppose to do...thank you amd may God Bless you...

Did you pay up? Or are you looking for a handout? If you paid what is due, I would say give it a few more months. I am sure you will hear from them sooner or later. Meanwhile, gather more dough in Dubai, you will need it here when you show up. i suggest you open an external account with RBC or CIBC and deposit your monies here so you can use it as soon as you show up.

Hello Poorguy,
Currently there are no set processing times for the skilled worker overseas processing at the CIO. Your cost recovery fee is due upon submission of your application and if you have done this you are likely fine. CIC does not move as quickly as we would like all the time. If you can, I suggest giving the Canadian CIC call centre a call to see if they have futher information. You can get the number off the www.cic.gc.ca Website. Federal skilled worker applications submitted on or after February 27, 2008, and that meet the specified criteria shall be placed into processing immediately upon receipt. My opinion would to be to call and find out what the status is if you are very concerned. I think it is reasonable to say that within 60 days you will have a response.

I already paid the recovery fee of CAD550.00 through demand draft, and i sent it together with my application forms. But the problem is i didnt sign at the back of the cheque...i forgot to sign because i was excited to send it...is there any problem regarding this matter? r they going to return it back to me? hope they will not...my contract here in dubai will expire this yr, and i am worried because i want to accomplish all the requirements (IELTS,all documents needed,etc...) before my contract expire, and the problem is i dont know when to begin because i dont know the status of my application...i am also planning to take the certified internal auditor(CIA) examination this yr in order to add more value to me...all of these plans are hanging in the air, but it have a potential possibility of realizing it...anyway, ill wait for their confirmation, but till when??? do i have to give it a month or more???is that within 60 days from the time they received my application, or 60 days starts today (June 8,2009) jz curious... regarding the fund, i think the glass is half full, maybe this yr it will...could you pls tell me if how can i open an account there, what r the requirements??and will it be easy for me to open an account even if im here in Dubai??? thanks in advance...God bless

I submitted my initial application on may 12, 2009 but have not received any confirmation of receipt I am very worried , Could anyone tell me how to contatc them and how long does it take to get the confirmation of the receipt of my inatke Initail Application.

you are worried after 12 days? that is 8 working days and you have to count delivery time. Wait 90 days and then start asking.

Guys,
Be patient, people at CIC are well-trained professionals. They will reply to all of you at their respective time since there is always backlog from all over the world. When I applied as killed worker in 1999 from Dubai, I was impatient too,, so I can´t balme you..Now, I am Canadian Citizen,, but I had to wait anyways...

Need info on cio/cic Application Acknolwdgement (in reply to: Status of Application to Centralized Intake Office)
Hi, FSW application received by CIO in 23 july, I did not provide any email address. How will cic inform me of application status and when? when does cic provide the file number ? is it upon approving application for transfer to CHC or before that. Since i did not provide my email for security of file number when can I expect my file number in the mail?
