Unemployment rate at its worst...

Subject: Unemployment rate at its worst...
I would like to be frank here. I certainly appreciate business from folks who feel their destiny is Canada (and of course it´s gonna cost you a few dimes), but be aware that our economy is on a downward spiral and will not recover unless the US economy shows definite signs of recovery (we supply them the materials to run their economy). A good way for the folks out there to gauge Canadian economy is to watch the US economy (the Americans are more open and straightforward than us when it comes reporting the state of their economy). It appears 2-3 years are required for any definitive signs of recovery in the US. Just today my friend bought a house in Las Vegas for 169k US$ that was going for 420k just 1.5 years ago. He says there are scores and scores of houses to be had for that kind of price or below. Same in FL (my guess) and elsewhere in the US. The fact is, the Americans used up all their hat-tricks so this time it is going to be hard to pull any new trick on the world and hence it will be a slow and painful recovery. As other thread showed, you still can arrive in these hard times and commiserate with local folks but be aware that we ain´t gonna feed you and your family (geez leave the family behind, it will be easier for one to beg or survive).

If help is needed in filling out paperwork and presenting it to the CIC, let me know... I might give a helping hand. I am a great helper indeed.

you were doing great until you rolled into your sales pitch. Without contact information the business offer is rather pointless.

you might want to follow Roy´s example. he puts his website on his posts and answers the questions without a sales pitch. If people want to, they contact him off the board.

if it is a skilled worker application, you should be able to do it yourself. read everything 20 times, put it away for a week, review it, have a friend review it. check it 3 times and send it.

there may also be some immigration settlement organizations that may be willing to give you a hand. Google - immigration settlement services toronto and start calling.

what a lot of folks who talk about bad economy and that immigrants should not land in Canada in these times, is that for most immigrants there are no options other than landing because the visa expires a certain day, delaying landing by few weeks or few months won´t change a lot in the economic situation.

for those who are thinking about applying maybe they should wait a little if the processing time has become less than a year.

so posting negative or sarcastic messages won´t really help anyone. i guess everyone knows that the world is living an economic crisis

Good point EI. Who knows when the economy will be great, if it ever does. Waiting for the economy to improve maybe risky. With the laws always changing and adapting to new situations, I say if you have the opportunity grab it and don´t delay. You still can go back and wait 3 years before coming back, if you don´t find a job right away.

yep good option too..but maybe after 3 years all the good jobs would have been already taken by others...so might as well stay and get something done while the economy is recovering. although i don´t think this crisis will be as bad as many think it will be

One of the worst place for immigrant. The Canadian government is so pathetic to lie and give false hope in their CIC website. I came to Canada not to be a minimum-wage slave, so I´ll be out very soon and spreading the news.

Ferry, just get the hell out of Canada already. Stop saying it, DO IT. Get it in your head ... you can´t make it because of YOU, not the government, economy, race, religion, ... it´s YOU.
