Its great reading through the different discussions however, i don´t seem to find one that fits my case.

I am a Canadian PR Starting Jan 1st of 2009. I am going to enroll in the Undergraduate program in Parsons, NY starting Fall of 2009. My parents are planning to become citizens by moving into Canada in the Fall of 2010. They will live in the borders until they are granted the citizenship. As of me, I will be flying into Canada every holiday I can but I realized that it will be literally impossible to fill up the 2 years requirement to even RENEW my PR status.

So, here is my question
If my parents become a citizen, will they be able to sponsor me EVEN IF I AM OVER THE AGE OF 18 after they become citizens? or is there any other way around the problem that I can use?

anything would be REALLY APPRECIATED!

1) have your parents even applied to immigrate yet? once they do, they have to complete residency requirements before becoming citizens - that is 3 years of not leaving the country out of 5

2) you are only eligible to be sponsored if you are under 22, a full time student and a dependent of your parents - that would most likely mean living with them.

this does not sound promising on any front

Thanks for replying so fast!

Yes, we applied as a family? My parents, my younger sister, and myself we are all PRs of Canada already.

Ok, so my birthday is July 2nd, I´ll be ending school may of 2013, i will still be 21 by then. If they sponsor me before that. But then it wouldn´t work also right? because I would have to bbe living with my parents or else they cannot sponsor me..correct?

AHHHhhh

Staying with them isn´t that critical, but you have to prove that you are financially dependent on them.

They´ll have to show a min´m income (NOT JUST BANK BALANCE) in Canada and proof of regular sending money to you.
