According to the Standing Committee of CIC it appears the government is moving very fast to replace the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants as the regulator of authorized Immigration Consultants.

Is this a good thing that CSIC could be replaced as the regulator of Immigration Consultants?

They have however set up a complaints and discipline system in an effort to protect the consumer.

I have difficulty accepting a position that something is working when I have inside information from clients about other representatives and how they handled certain cases.
All should be considered innocent until proven guilty but charging $5,000.00 upfront for a student permit when the College or University pays the representative to assist with the student permit could be considered unethical.
Some people claiming to be authorized representatives posting answers here have shown their true colours.
When a complaint process works one would imagine that far more then a couple would have had a hearing regarding their complaints. That the Tribunal Decisions seem more then strange. http://www.csic-scci.ca/content/Tribunal_decisions
Two are from the Star Investigation Lost in Migration which their employee recommended a bogus refugee claim caught on video.
The politicians and Anonymous 49.2.21 seem to think things are lacking.
I just do not understand if there is over a thousand members why has there only been two Tribunal decisions in four years?

when the CSIC being replaced, will that means the new governing body will open doors for more members in the future with less membership fee? it that is true, then it is a good News that CSIC being delisting...

I am all for the replacement of CSIC. I just wish the govermment will do it sooner because a mandatory CPD and membership fee will be due in November. Hate to put such a few more thousands in CSIC pocket.
