Subject: Chance to be approved
My partner (Canadian Citizen) was applying to sponsor me to be permanent resident in Canada. We have a lawyer to help us what are the things to do. We are a gay couple for more than 4 years now. As of January this year 2009, we received a letter from the CIC in Missisauga that my partner was eligible to sponsor and my papers was forwarded to their visa office here in the Philippines.

In response to what they are needed, I already had my medical exam, NBI Records, Certificate of No Marriage, Original Passport, and other documents testifying our relationship genuine.

Based on CIC Website, the processing for sponsorship/spousal visa application is 6 months. As of now, itīs on 5 months waiting to be approved.

What is your opinion about this? Will I have a chance to be approved?

Thank you

Questions like this make me shake my head and question your actions so far. I thank the supreme being for a lovely day and that I have already had two cups of coffee before reading this posting.

What is your chance of being approved?

Not one single thing that you posted here is about the feelings you have for your partner or vice versa. You focus on the Medical, Police certificate and Original Passport LOL.

You hired a Lawyer but you ask the question here???

What did the Lawyer say about your chances of being approved?

Vinz common sense, focus on common sense. You and your partner completed a questionnaire as part of the forms. At the end of each of your questionnaires is a bold non-numbered question. DID YOU ANSWER IT?

"ON A SEPARATE SHEET OF PAPER, PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL DETAILS OF YOUR CURRENT RELATIONSHIP THAT YOU BELIEVE WOULD HELP TO PROVE YOUR RELATIONSHIP IS GENUINE AND CONTINUING".

You can not say he walks on water or you walk on water but you can write why your together. Why he is special to you and why your relationship has already lasted four years and just how committed to each other the two of you are.

You better pray that your phone calls show up on your phone bills and each call is at least 20 minutes and the frequency of those calls are quite frequent.

If your using a web cam to communicate you should show several photos of the two of you communicating with different shirts on and different items in front of your computer screens to date the photos.

Common sense Vinz.

It is YOUR obligation to prove that your in a genuine relationship so think common sense issues to increase your chances of success.

Best of Luck!

Thank you so much for replying here. I know what does common sense mean. I just posted it here my situation to know the view of other people who are also experiencing this kind of application.I hope you would understand the situation of waiting something that you dont know what´s the result. You have alot in your minds.

We already did what you had mentioned aboved. Phone bills, old pictures, joint accounts, and etc. Yes, I do love him so much more than my life and that´s one reason why I want to be with him and be married in Canada as soon as I get there.

I really appreciated your comment here.

Thank you again

So since it is time for the Visa Officer to consider the bond between the two of you (now is the time) to act.

Your Lawyer should of gotten new stuff to show that there is ongoing communication between the two of you guys since you submitted your application to Manila.

So has his friends started to arrange a marriage for the two of you? Is there a date set, a chapel booked, a reception planned??????

Or is it just talk?

Common Sense!

PROVE there is a bond and a plan for the future but prove it NOW!
