I am a live-in-caregiver for 2 years and 2 months in Toronto. My employer would like me to go with them for a vacation in U.S. I have a multiple entry U.S. Visa. My problem is that I was given a single entry when I enter Canada. Will I have a problem with it when I am going to U.S. and coming back from U.S.? Will they ask for a entry visa to Canada? I did went to U.S. once with my employer but just for a day . Everything went smoothly at that time but this time my employer vacation will take one week.
Can anyone give me a feedback ?

(in reply to: crossing US boarder) Not sure about the Canadian system. BUT US has a system called AVR, which allows you to enter into the US with an expired visa if you have valid status and returning within 21 days. I assume Canada has something similar.
In general single entry visa means just 1 entry. Multiple entry means as much as you like within the visa validity with valid status. In that sense you need to have another visa this time.

crossing US boarder (in reply to: crossing US boarder) What is AVR? I called CIC and they told me as long as my working permit is still valid , there won´t be any problem.

(in reply to: crossing US boarder) i think visiting the US is an exception...as you have a valid visa for canada..u can go the US n come back without having multiple entry visa to canada
