Recently there has been several examples in the media regarding abuse of power by Canadian government officials.
In most countries these issues would not even make the papers but in Canada they do. I feel proud about that! When a Canadian complains about other Canadian´s it is like keeping it in the family. Exposing our own dirty laundry is by far better then having others show it in public.
If CBSA get away with things like this then just imagine what they could get away with your application. To me it is the old argument that it is better to let five guilty people go then to convict one innocent person.

I could post examples after examples of abuse of power by CBSA but I need written consent of each client. I feel they are using 9/11 as an excuse for everything now a days. Canada is the only country fighting NOT to take back their own citizens from Guantanamo Bay.
A year and a half to do background checks which are basically done by a name and date of birth check on a computer system. Oh we are doing background checks but they never say which background checks they are taking so long to complete. That way they can blame another agency for the delay in processing.
Any stage one H&C applicant in the GTA gets a letter that it will take another (one to two years) to process the Landing. This is a person who CIC claims deserves compassion. All that is required is a medical and a passport from the client then the dreaded "background checks"!!!!
Then CIC says be happy wait another two years before you can travel home to see your family. Now that is compassion!

I totally agree with you Sir R. not because I am not a CBSA person.
but what you are saying here is totally chunky. You have a point.
If i would be sponsoring a spouse, and it would take close to eternity, i think Id rather dare them to give me a job in an immigration office to somehow DO the JOB and be with my spouse wherever CIC office it is!!! who cares...
that background check sucks..i think it gives them nosebleed to do checks like that. whats taking them so long? that is why we have CLEARANCES issued from this and that...
