Subject: Sponsor spouse OR apply for visitor's visa?!? |
|

|
I am a bit confused. I "thought" once I married abroad, I could begin the sponsorship process once I returned home. (forgive me if this seems naive--some of the information re: immigration/sponsorship overwhelms me)
But someone in the Vegreville office (a contact, not high up, but a contact nonetheless) told me my spouse "should" get a visitor´s visa to come here so we can co-habitate and "prove" the legitimacy of our union. But what if this isn´t possible for him?
We´ve plenty of communication (and proof of) for the past 9 months; does it matter if there aren´t photos of a traditional marriage? If it was performed due to budget and time restraints, but we didn´t document it? And no, that doesn´t matter to me--not ALL brides wish for some over-the-top, frou-frou affair! But we´ve plenty of photos all "couple-y"...
So now I am wondering, what next? Begin the sponsorship process, perhaps at the risk of being rejected? Or try this other avenue, of somehow, finding a way to "visit" (?!?) to prove our union?
Please, please be as clear and detailed in your responses...like I said, some of the information I´ve got is overwhelming.
Thank You!!
