| Subject: Applying for Canada Experience Class from Quebec |

Hello all. I graduated from McGill University in 2008 and soon after managed to get a job here in Montreal. I´ve worked here for just over a year now, and am eligible to apply for the CEC. My question is this: if I get PR status through this avenue, how long do I have before moving to another province? My French is quite poor, so I definitely intend to eventually move to a different province where I´ll have more career options - but I can´t find any information about when I´m required to leave the province if my application is approved. Is there some leeway of a few months provided in order to find a new job, new place of residence, etc?

Try to apply for FEDERAL PR...not through QC system..If you become FEDERAL PR, you can work ANY WHERE

Anonymous, I don´t think that´s very correct. Becoming a Federal PR does not automatically translate into being able to work anywhere in Canada. As far as I am aware, with a Federal PR, you can work in other provinces apart from Quebec. On the contrary, with PR obtained through the Quebec route, you should be able to work anywhere in Canada.

a federal PR can live and work ANYWHERE in the country - that includes Quebec. Quebec selection is the same as a provincial nominee - you are making a commitment to a specific province.

Hi, I just got my file number for my Quebec application. How many more months will it take for me to get the visa to immigrate there? What will be the next step after the file number?
