In Sept, 08 denied entry to Canada for skiing trip to Banff due to a DUI record in the USA.
The DUI was very old, what must I do to enter Canada for skiing or boating as a temporary visitor. I am American citizen with Passport and proof of susbstantial resources. I previously have entered Canada for recreation many times over the years.
Thankyou for advise on how to enter Canada to enjoy the recreational facilities.

(in reply to: US DUI record) Why not try a US recreational site? Colorado has many skiing places and there are many spots with nice climate. I suggest that you stop trying to convince the Canadians why they should let you in. Afterall, it is them who is losing your tourism dollars!

(in reply to: US DUI record) you need a pardon on your dui - that is what it is going to take.
money, etc is irelevant. Even Martha Stewart can´t enter the country. Criminal conviction is a criminal conviction.

(in reply to: US DUI record) apply for a temporary resident permit (TRP), heard the canadian consulate in los angeles issues lots to ex-offenders. if paris hilton can enter canada after she was set freed from jail for dui, don´t see why you can´t. just check with your nearest canadian consulate.
