(in reply to: HEPATITIS B) You have to try..but u have to know that hep B (like hep C and HIV) can be a red flag on the file..as hep B is infectious (spreads though body fluids such as blood and semen) and can have serious consequence such as liver cirrhosis. Some cases of chronic hep B are silent carriers but others are active (determined by serology tests). I don´t know how the immigration physicians consider the hep b..I don´t know if they reject cases of hep B..but there is a high chance they do...
Go to some forums and check back for similar postings to see if someone has been rejected

(in reply to: HEPATITIS B) Thalia,
It´s on a case to case basis - based on his medical condition and if it meets excessive demand threshhold. Here is the link for your information: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2008/ob063.asp. You should know your application may take a longer time to process - positive if CIC accepts his condition not being a burden to society and if not, your application may be refused due to his inadmissibility. On the positive side, I heard of people with Hep B being granted PR status.

(in reply to: HEPATITIS B) Thalia,
Spouses and common-law partners of CANADIAN sponsors are exempted from the excessive demand clause, but they still could be refused if their disease would pose a threat to the public health. This doesn´t apply to you as you are not a Canadian PR or Citizen.
For you, your PR application, with your accompanying family members can be refused if your husband is inadmissible. But then, you do not have a choice - you have to include him for examination whether he is coming or not because you are married to him so just pray that his chronic HEP B is not an issue.
And your application will take some time to process so be patient, nothing you can do about it. I´ve seen similar cases that took about 4 years to reach a decision.
Good luck.

Hepatitis (in reply to: HEPATITIS B) Hepatitis
When there is a history of hepatitis in those older than 15 years of age, the details from the applicant should include the date and type of hepatitis, if known.
Note: If the applicant is not excessive demand exempt, then the results of serum AST and ALT should be provided. If these are abnormal (greater than 1.5 X normal value), then a specialist’s report including hepatitis C antibodies and hepatitis B surface antigen should be provided.

(in reply to: HEPATITIS B) I am a primary school teacher. I am about to apply live-in caregiver to assist my relative´s family in Canada. However I´m a silent chronic Hepatitis B Carrier (my liver function is normal). Can I get work permit approval? I know it does not affect studying aboard. I wonder is it will affect getting a work permit visa for live-in caregiver!
I hope I can get someone´s help.
Thank u!
