Subject: Roy/Sharon pls help re my PR application
  Hi Roy/Sharon,

Kindly provide me your inputs of my queries as stated below;
1. I´ve got my file number 3 years ago but there´s no final decision yet of my PR application to date. My job at the time when I applied was in a manufacturing - a managerial position but I quit a year ago.My query is - will the visa officer ask me again of my current job? If he/she will, will it affect my entire application as I am jobless now?

2. A year ago, I received a letter from them that they will soon ask an updated information from me. What are these updates they want to know and when do you think I will receive that letter so that I can prepare them.

3. Is it necessary to take an IELTS.

Thanks

1. Your current job should not affect your PR application as long as you have enough years of experience in an occupation under NOC O, A, B. For example, if you are claiming 21 points then you need 4 years of experience.

2. You applied through SAP. If yes, then they´ll ask you to submit the documents such as language results, employment proof, etc. In case, you did not apply through SAP then you may be asked to update your file with any new information that you may have. In any case, you´ll receive clear cut instructions.

3. If you are from a country with English as the main language and with decent education, letter of English proficiency should work. Otherwise, you can very well forget about getting 16 points without taking IELTS (unless you are a famous author or something like that).

My PR application (in reply to: Roy/Sharon pls help re my PR application)
Thanks Samm,

1. Ok
2. What is SAP ?
3. Considering that I´ll only get 12 points of English proficiency but I already got 5 points in adaptability to get the passing mark ( my younger sister is in Canadian Citizen )do I still need to take the IELTS ?
4. One last query - I applied with 6 family members accompanying with me, how likely my PR application be approved? I´ve heard that it is advantageous ( approval is easier)if family members will be left alone first and take them to Canada later.

2. Simplified application process only required application forms. No documents were required to be sent with the initial application. I think it was started in September 2006 and was applicable to FSW without AEO applying through any consulate other than Buffalo.

3. How do you know? 12 is usually the max for people applying without taking IELTS and submitting sufficient proof of proficiency in English.

4. No such thing.

thanks again Samm,

2. It´s not through SAP as I submitted the application form with documents on it.
3. Together with the application that I submitted was a written explanation with supporting documents or proof to show that my English language proficiency is high. Since then,I have not heard from them asking for a language test result. Is this mean that I met all the requirements and hit the passing mark? Will this also mean that IELTS result no longer needed. Pls let me know.

4. Now it´s clear to me that application with or without accompanying dependents be treated equally by the visa officer

Regards
