Subject: Regulating Immigration Consultants
The responsibility of Regulating Immigration Consultants in Australia has been taken over by the Department of Immigration in Australia.

THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY LOGICAL MOVE.

http://www.minister.immi.gov.au/media/media-releases/2009/ce09033.htm

There seems to have been several Australian Immigration Consultants suspended for breaking the Rules in Australia by that regulatory body.

Can I assume from the lack of Canadian Immigration Consultants that have been suspended in Canada by their regulatory body CSIC, that CSIC Members are perfect little angels?

Should Citizenship and Immigration Canada take over the Regulation of Canadian Immigration Consultants that are representing people for a fee? I would really like to hear from the consumers of this forum.

I just do not have my own opinion.

I believe it has to become a regulated profession:

- Needs a license.
- Needs a professional and knowledge test to be passed.
-Need ethical practice. Violators are disciplined.

God! It is boiling here in Vancouver!

SURPRISE FINALLY AFTER SEVERAL YEARS THERE ARE GOING TO BE DISCIPLINE HEARINGS AT CSIC. I JUST LOOKED AND WONDER IF CSIC ITSELF READ THIS ORIGINAL POSTING.

NOW WHEN YOU GO ON THE SITE AND CLICK MORE DETAILS YOU GET THIS SECTION AND THAT SECTION WITH LITTLE OR NO DETAILS OF THE INFRACTIONS.

IF CSIC´s MANDATE IS CONSUMER PROTECTION SHOULD NOT THE PUBLIC KNOW WHAT THE ACTUAL ALLEGATIONS ARE? WHAT ARE THESE FOUR ACCUSED OF VIOLATING? REMEMBER THEY ARE STILL AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVES UNTIL THEY ARE SUSPENDED.

AS CONSUMERS WOULD YOU NOT LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE ALLEGATIONS ARE? REMEMBER ALL SHOULD BE DEEMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.

SHOULD NOT CSIC SAY HE/SHE IS ACCUSED OF POOR REPRESENTATION BECAUSE OF.......?

WHAT IF THEY TOOK A Client´s MONEY AND THEN DID NOT SHOW UP AT THE Client´s APPEAL HEARING?

One guy appears not to have kept the client´s file for six years and not to have kept proper records. That can not be too serious if it is In Land Immigration because most persons are either allowed to remain or are removed in that time frame.....but it is a requirement.

One member seems to not have acted towards the Society with respect and dignity, PLUS.

DO YOU THE CONSUMERS FEEL THAT FURTHER DETAILS ABOUT ANY ALLEGED INFRACTIONS AS AN IMMIGRATION CONSULTANT SHOULD BE DISPLAYED IN MORE DETAIL OR IS THIS SUFFICIENT?
