  To All

When one is in a real marriage they think the whole world knows.

NOT TRUE!

If the Visa Post Officer could see you hugging, kissing and driving all your friends crazy by telling everyone (all the time) just how perfect your partner is, then maybe.

If the Visa Officer could see just how much fun the two of you have all the time and how she/he makes you belly laugh, then maybe.

When one submits a spousal sponsorship application it is your onus (responsibility)to prove your in a real marriage. Never forget that!

Always go over board to prove your relationship!
Always explain in detail any possible areas of concern!
Always, always when being interviewed listen to the question and ask yourself quickly why that question before you answer.

NEVER look up and away from the Visa Officers eyes just before answering a question. That will make the Visa Officer think your trying to remember the answer and your not familiar with your partners habits.

When answering the question regarding how the two of you maintain contact it is your responsibility to prove same. If you say telephone, mail, internet you must prove that.

Any cards or letters the applicant receive should be sent to the Visa Post with the envelopes so they can see the postal stamp. Telephone communication must be shown on the phone bills so they can see the frequency and duration of calls. Internet can me all kinds of things. Evidence must be submitted so keep conversation you choose to submit clean.

If communicating via web cam make sure to include plenty of photos. Those photos should have different things in front of each other screen, Each of you should be seen with several different outfits on. The woman should have different ear rings or her hair made up differently.

This will reduce your chances of a refusal!

Depending on your partners Visa Post sometimes they will be refused for illogical reasons but it is still your duty to put together the best application possible.

Hong Kong is a prime example of being known for illogical refusals.

Sponsor was raised in Hong Kong with his first language being Cantonese. Applicant was raised in mainland China with their first language being Mandarin. Applicant was asked how her sponsor learned Mandarin.

****Answer was from his friends and co-workers where he used to work.

Client #1

Sponsor works for the (RBC) Royal Bank of Canada in their Asian call centre. Submitted letter detailing his duties.

Client #2

Sponsor worked in a Chinese supermarket with client service and had to deal with complaints. Employment letter stated he speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and English.

Prove your relationship!!!!!!!

in line with this topic roy, we don´t have wedding pictures to support our applications. unfortunately, the camera that we used was stole during our honeymoon. me and my sponsor are not also fond of taking pictures together so there are only few pictures that i can include on my spousal application. do u think we´ll be denied because of this? what can we do to provide evidences that our relationship is genuine? i´ve already included e-mails, phone bills, and remittances receipt. i haven´t submitted the application yet. still gathering all the documents

thanks in advance! =)

There are also cases where the HK officers were right to refuse. The aponsors claimed otherwise, appealed and were successful - and lo and behold, applicants arrived, left shortly after and one case I´m aware of, even went as far as to not inform the sponsor of visa and arrival ... flew to another province to start life. Sponsors wanted recourse, felt cheated ... nothing can be done other than reporting to CIC, CBSA, RCMP and hopefully when he / she want to sponsor someone else, the file will be flagged. In these cases, officers were right, sponsors wrong but who will these sponsors blame, the Canadian government for its inability to deport their spouses and some even want the government to compel their spouses to reunite with them.

Dear Anonymous 210.64.196

There are always some who abuse any system including this forum.

The issue I was trying to make was be sure to prove your marriage. T

here are plenty who steal, cheat etc. in every single country. If the governments of Canada had all complied with the objectives of the Immigration Act IRPA 3 (1) (f) Prompt Processing there would be little logical reason to try to get into Canada via a bogus relationship.

Anna try to get letters from Canadian´s and PR´s who will attest to your relationship. Explain the camera issue.

Roy, prompt processing will not stop the cheats. People who cheat and lie to get into Canada are often those who can´t meet the requirements.

I could debate this with you for years and neither would win because it is an unknown. I have been around when FSW processing was prompt (three months). There was virtually no one attempting to do a bogus marriage from any Visa Post.

Your knowledge is based on human behavior? OR?

Spousal Sponsorship (in reply to: SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP)
That´s a great post! It really helps a lot. Now I know what to do since I´m a TFW and getting married on May,2010. I have a question though.....I´m pregnant and my Canadian boyfriend wants to put me in his insurance sometime this week so I can get benefits when I deliver the baby. I´ll be moving in with him on January,2010 but I´ve been living with him on the weekends only since April,2009. Would I qualify to be his common law partner already? Thanks a lot!

Roy, great post.

Everyone, over do it with proof - backup everything you say so they don´t come back & ask for proof of what you said on the forms.

We sent in more then enough, hoping we will have no problems with proof of our marriage & relationship of 2 years.

- photos of us on holiday / trips & events we both were at together (on the back of each photo - state the date, who is in the photos & where it was taken). Such events: us in India, myself with my wife´s family, us at festivals together 2 years ago. Original ticket of a festival from 2008 - addressed to my wife at my address in the UK.

-etickets of our travels with both our names on it with copies of our passport stamps & visas. Emails from people we met while traveling & photos with those people.

- envelopes (post stamped), cards, emails from friends & family with both out names on them: from Canada, UK & OZ

- lease agreement with both our names

- post office box we rent with both our names on the form

- letter from bank: joint bank account

- vehicle insurance in both our names

- marriage certificate

- emails from people at our wedding & who catered our dinner

- copy of hotel confirmation / honeymoon & receipt of restaurant we ate at.

- copy of skype (internet) conversation history when we were apart for 6 weeks.

What do you thin Roy? Cheers
