Subject: Request - Need opinion from Sharon, Roy and others
  Dear Sharon, Roy and others,

I am married to a CDN PR and have applied for my immigration . But one thing concerns me. Due to uncertainity of immigration my family did not want us to consummate the marriage ( it is an arranged marriage). And the boy did not mind waiting.Marriage was done accordingly to our religious rites and according to the countrys law and is legal and valid. We also had a wedding reception to celebrate this. Now when I go for interview / medicals will they ask/ look for intimate details? Can I tell them my parents are conservative and explain the situation. I would hate to lie. Are there any chances of the application being rejected due to this?
I am very worried ....please advise...Thank you...Anita

Had a very attractive 20 year old client who went to Guyana for ten days with her mother to meet her boyfriend she had been communicating on line for two years.

To her surprise he proposed and she accepted with the blessing of her mother. In two days they got married. The next day they had a reception and the day after that she and her mother returned to Canada.

They never consummated the marriage because of their religion. One week to move into the man´s house etc.

They were married when she was eighteen and she never returned to visit for a year and a half. All parties and parents agreed to this because they wanted her to finish school.

When completing the forms they stated that the marriage had not been consummated. That and the rushed wedding and them getting 50 people to attend the reception was the reason for refusal. Free food the whole village showed up with no notice!

We won at appeal ADR.

If you have any unusual situation explain it as best as possible and all will understand.

If you have the legal doscs regarding the marriage really held then it shouldn´t be a problem. You have to prove the marriage with the marriage certificate, marriage/reception photos...regular communications bet´n you (letter/emails/copy of phone bills with phone number...), proof of your visit to marry him (air ticket/luggage tag)....
