Headline reads - IS VANCOUVER´s SUMMER OVER?

VANCOUVER - After record-breaking high temperatures in July, the rain has returned to Vancouver.

Weather forecasts for this week call for rain and temperatures in the mid-teens.

Although considerably cooler than last month, the temperature is nowhere near the historical low for August 9 of 8.9 degrees Celsius, which was recorded in 1975, according to Environment Canada.

The average August 9 temperature historically has been 22.3 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature ever recorded on this day is 33.3 degrees Celsius, which was recorded in 1960, according to Environment Canada.

The long-term forecast is calling for an end to the rain by next weekend, and a return to summer highs by the middle of next week.

...so we have 8 weeks of fabulous (sometimes outrageous) sunshine and people complain. it cools off for 3 days and everyone thinks we have kissed summer goodbye.

sigh.

Same thing here we have had only one day 30 Celsius or above day the whole summer and yesterday it was suppose to get 30 and feel like 40 with the humidity and it got no where close.

So because it was not severely humid and sticky people complained.

As Canadian´s at least we have the weather to talk about.

If it never changed or was too predictable life would be boring!

Ok, now I am complaining too. It is so dark and gloomy outside I have the lights on so I can see the papers on my desk. It´s August!!!

Good for firefighters. The firefighting budget is shot and there is 2 months left in the season. kaching. They figure some fires will burn until snowfall.

Come here and suffer through the torrential rains we got last night and today. My Umbrella is at home and I have to swim to the car.
