Subject: Medical Exam Expiry Date and No Word Yet
I don´t know what is the best step to take here . . .

My husband´s medicals are going to expire next month (September 10th) and his application is still "in process" in London. They are still conducting background checks. We don´t know what´s the best step to take:

Should my husband redo his medicals once they expire, meaning that should he redo them sometime after September 10th without being notified?

OR

Should my husband do nothing and just wait until the background checks clear and see if the London Visa office sends something in the mail to him regarding his medicals? But the problem is what if he doesn´t receive anything in the mail?

We just don´t want to extend our waiting time any longer than it already has been but at the same time we want this second round of medicals NOT to expire on us.

Why is it taking so long for my husband´s application to get processed? We´ve almost exceeded the average processing time of 8 months (and that´s 8 months since the process began in the London Visa office. We submitted the application to CPC Mississauga back in October 2008).

Just a small rant . . . I must say that it is not fair that they make us do the medicals up front in the beginning of the application process and then they take so long in processing the application that the medicals become expired and then we have to redo them.

Hi, I´m new to all this as we are just in the early stages of the process, but I was told on Monday night by the London visa office that our medicals would be done about 2 months prior to completion of the application. That we don´t have to worry about these until about 10 months time, latest and then we must enter within 12 months of the medicals. We were quoted 6-12 months for completion. Is this not the case then?

No, I´m doing an outland sponsorship to bring my husband to Cananda. When we filled out the application it was a requirement that my husband complete his medicals and send the originals to CPC Mississauga. If he didn´t complete the medicals and send the originals from the beginning we would have never gotten the first stage approval. The medicals must be done up front. And now we´re in this dilemma where we aren´t sure what we should do.

We have already had first stage approval and told medicals will be one of the last things, according to the London Visa Centre. We´ll just have to see how things go and bare that in mind. There seems to be a lot of variations what people have to go through.

I think we are talking apples and oranges here. Family class applications must have medicals included in the original application package.

Skilled worker applications have medicals requested by CIC when the file is past the first stages of approval.

don´t redo the medical unless you are asked to. Sometimes they are lenient with the timing so why spend the money if you don´t have to.
