Subject: Needs a visitor visa to get an Open work permit ? |

I married to a Canadian and applied a PR inside Canada. And recently I received a letter from the immigration office and said I am eligible for PR and now I can apply an Open Work Permit.
My visitor visa will expire soon but immigration website says "legal immigration status is no longer a requirement for sounses of Canadian citizens who wish to apply permanent resident status provided that they have an eligible sponsor"
Do I need to have a valid visitor visa to apply an open work permit? Or an open work permit can be my visitor visa?

(in reply to: Needs a visitor visa to get an Open work permit ?) I would extend my temporary resident permit and apply for an open work permit until the final landing interview.

(in reply to: Needs a visitor visa to get an Open work permit ?) A visitor visa is different from a work permit. The former does not allow you to work. If you receive your approval in principle, you can apply for a work permit, medical, SIN Card ...
