I am Canadian and my b/f is American. We plan on just getting married in the U.S. and then applying for paperwork? Is the smart way to do this, we want to be together. Would appreciate any adivce.

If he is the right man for you of course it is the smart thing to do.

Get him to collect all of his proofs of no convictions now and then have him take the medical. Get married go on a honeymoon and when you return sit down and submit everything and I mean everything to prove your in a genuine relationship.

US is more advanced, more evolved and more fun to live in; Marry him and stay there. They will give you green card in a couple of years. If you are both non-white and not very well educated, then Canada is a better choice.
