| Subject: Please help with urgent advice! |

I invited my brother and his wife last winter to visit us here in Canada. On arriving my brother went back home after arranging for his wife to receive fertility treatment in another city(different from the one we are living in). To cut a long story short, when the treatment process failed my brother requested his wife to come back home. Now she doesn´t want to go back and her visa has expired. Rumour has it that she has engaged the services of an immigration lawyer, applied as a refugee and is currently receiving subvention from the government. My question is: is this possible? Could this be possible?
Secondly I would like my mother to come and help us when my wife delivers in a couple of months time. Would my sister in-laws action affect whether mom will get her visitor´s visa? If yes, what can I do about it?
