Subject: Proof of funds
  Hi Experts,

CIC site says...
~~~~~~~~~
The Government of Canada does not provide financial support to new skilled worker immigrants.
You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your dependants after you arrive in Canada. You cannot borrow this money from another person. You must be able to use this money to support the costs of living for your family.
You will need to provide proof of your funds to the Canadian visa office in your home country when you submit your application for immigration.
* Is this a new requirement? [as I don´t remember seeing this couple of days back on site... or may be I am ignorant]
* Can this be property [real estate property] or some money transfer [as gift] from my father / brother?
I surely know that I don´t have around 14 K CA$ in account and now...
Please guide... and is there any work around??? [I don´t have arranged employment]
This is not NEW..
Nothing is better than liquid ( Cash). So forget about the property..You have to show cheques,drafts or money cash.
Even though they suggest you have 14k, I advise you to have at least 25,000 $. That 14k will disappear quite fast. If you do not have money, the BEST thing to do is work more in your country or simply rob a bank or something and put the cash in YOUR account. Good luck.
Even though you have that much money, belive me you wcan never make and save that much in Canada for many years ...Think about what you can do with that money in your own country, that amount would be enough for you just a couple of months in canada...better think again and again, talk to your own people in this country and listen to their story and then decide...
@farting
I´m living [2 yrs on WP and now on PR] in Canada for last 4.5 year now... so I totally disagree with you... and I don´t need to talk to anyone... I know how much one could make and how much one could save... [been here and doing awesome]... so stop this hoax...
If someone isn´t earning good here and just going to survive on that money then it´s never gonna be enough...
@romania and @anom
Anyways... as you could see this question for my friend... and I will let him know this....
Thanks,
Lucky
somehow a friend of a friend comes here and asks for info for his friend- can´t your friend come and ask questions on his own? - If he is not capable of doing such a simple thing, do you think he will find the right job to make that much money and save? Lies lies lies lies...
ohh...someone is a just farting and losing all his mind becauses it seems that he is a born Loser :P :P :P
Hahahaha.... Anyways.... I am not interested now in any conversation with you... as I have proved a lot... ;) to keep your farting bum off. [oh or was that your mouth? both sound similar]
proof of funds has always been part of a skilled worker application unless there is a solid job offer or as you have already stated - the PNP option. That would not preclude the need to come with some money in your pocket to get settled but it is not a formal requirement when you are clearly earning an income within weeks of arrival.
CIC initially wants to know if you have unecumbered cash that you will be able to use for settlement. Equity in real estate is unencumbered as long as there is a reasonable ability to liquidate.
CIC is not asking anyone to sell their house prior to getting a PR visa. What they are asking is to know how much money you intend to have available to get yourself established - reasonable request, I would say. They are asking you to show that you have 6 months living expenses (and believe me, that requirement will not get you very far especially in the big cities)
When you arrive, your assests must be in cash. Real estate equity won´t be acceptable at your point of arrival.
does that make sense?
Oh lord! It’s hilarious to watch people like farting leaving the topic and asking for non-related proofs. I guess for a few people, grapes are still sour.. Hee heee
