Hello
I want to sponsor my wife & child who are now in aboard, I applied for my child Citizenship Certificate from India & come back recently
in Canada for sponsoring my wife but last 5 year I don´t work in Canada mostly in welfare, I start work this week I mean first of Sep 2009 in Toronto Ontario, Now How I could sponsor my wife,What is the actual rulesor law in Ontario province, or If any other province have relax for Job period/time? Your help would highly appreciates.

you have to pay govt the welfare you collected for 5 years before you sponsor your wife.

adibles, please show us where that rule is found????
Jabenra, you must prove you are employed to sponsor. There is no minimum income requirement. It just says you cannot be collecting welfare. (makes sense, don´t you think?) What might happen is that CIC will want to see some steady income before they add more family members to the potential welfare roll as you will be financially responsible for your wife for 3 years and your child for 10.
How do you have the required fees to sponsor?

sharon, this is where the rules is found on the cic.gc.ca site.
did he received welfare based on disability?
You may not be eligible to be a sponsor if you:
* failed to provide financial support you agreed to when you signed a sponsorship agreement to sponsor another relative in the past
* defaulted on a court-ordered support order, such as alimony or child support
* received government financial assistance for reasons other than a disability
* were convicted of a violent criminal offence, any offence against a relative or any sexual offence—depending on circumstances such as the nature of the offence, how long ago it occurred and whether a pardon was issued
* defaulted on an immigration loan—late or missed payments
* are in prison or
* have declared bankruptcy and have not been released from it yet.

Hi
I did not sponsor my wife yet, I just started work in this month after 5 years without job, No I am not collecting Welfare, I am working-Present job is stable sofar I noticed this company is well stablished in Ontario, Need to know How long I need to show or prove my job before I apply or need any minimum salary limit etc, you help highly appreciates.
