Hello, I would like some advise.. I sent my application (Inland) on February 2009 and they started my file on March 2009 and it was transfered to the local CIC in August 2009... I got a letter from the local CIC and they said that my file will be review on February 2012 because they are busy and there are others priorities... I dont know what to do? I dont have first stage approval and I cant work or have health care....
Any advise???

Hi fern,
i happened to read ur message while browsing for some light with my case and i think we are in the same boat.
here´s my timeline accdng to ecas:
received application 23 march 09(Vegreville)
begin processing 7 april 09
received additional req 2 june 09
transfer files to local cic 10 sept 09(Edmonton)which backlog is 18-24 mos(GOd have mercy)
i dont have AIP yet just like you. havent received any letter from cic local. but just lucky that i have health care coz i came in canada under a work permit but will expire dec 2010.
if im not wrong ur here with visitor´s visa?
talked to the cic call centre and she mentioned that there are reasons why the applications are being transferred to the local offices and one of that is to determine whether the marriage/rel is bonafide. some sort of deeper check i guess.
well all we can do is wait and hang on and believe for a miracle to happen=)

In my case I dont have health care or work permit.. I dont have status! so I just hope nothing happend to me cause the hospitals here are so expensive... We were thinking to move and transfer the file to an other local cic where is not so busy.. But yeah maybe there will be a miracle for us!!! we just have to wait..

as long as the cic didnt deny your spousal application You are under the implied status. you should be okay. but call the cic once in a while to get updates with ur status in canada. and probably u know all these stuff.
just take extra careful with ur health coz seeing a doctor here is costly and it´s indeed true.
ive read some in the other forum that much as possible keep sending proofs that the marriage is genuine. maybe even the cheesist stuff lol. im gonna start on that next week. i should be on the top of that. and even thinking to ask for FOSS/CAIPS notes from the cic so i know exactly the reason why they tranferred my files to the local office.
till then. there´s always a ray of light in the end of the tunnel=)

Thanks for the advise I think Im going to do the same, but I dont know if I can send the proofs even if they dont ask me for that... I called the inmigration number and ask for the CAIPS and they said they dont have any for me.... so I´ll wait until they have something for me...
