lawyers are scum. I called my member of parliament when I could not get a visitors visa for my fiance. I had a 1 hour meeting with his assistant who spends all of his day helping people with immigration problems. He has no influence with CIC but he knows the system and has access to files that we do not. I got some wonderful insight and advice from this man. He is the one who encouraged us to fight to have our old file reopened. He was right and now we are only a few months away from completing our PR instead of back at the beginning.

Your wife is living in Canada. She has the same right to speak with her goverment official as I did. It is their job. That is what they are elected and paid to do. Write a letter and have your wife take it with her if she is shy and unsure of herself. There may also be some immigration services close to where your wife is living that can offer some insight.

The advice is free in both cases. Perhaps you can change this sad situation you find yourself in. I am hoping for you.

Thanks SHARON! I already convienced her we should talk to her MP... She is more patient than me, but her patience is also running out... desperate situations make you go to the next level!

Thanks Sharon!

Dave,

I have to say I disagree with you. This forum is for people who are seeking advice and that´s what I got from Sharon. Furthermore, the information shared between Sharon and myself might be of relevance for other people who are in the same situation I am. I apologize for any incovenience this message may have caused.

dear dave...if people cannot become friends on this forum, what is the point of this place? nobody is forcing you to read this or respond to it. This thread is as relevant to immigration as the questions about ´how much longer do I have to wait´. Chill out.

Sharon,

Not all MPs are as helpful as yours. In my case, when I saw people who applied 6 months after me are getting their PRs one after another I decided to meet the MP and ask for help. I first asked his stuff to let me have a short meeting with him. But they said due to high volume of requests for immigration affairs, there is no way to meet him in person. Then, I asked a secretary to help me find out what´s wrong with my case? And yu know what she did? Just sent a useless fax on my behalf and enquired my application status. Which was obviously useless!

Lawyers are practically useless! (in reply to: to Ozz and lawyers)
I submitted everything to him... and he give it back to me with just a piece of covering letter... that´s all!.. that´s what you´ve paid him for... for a cheap and useless job.. i do feel like the most stupid human here on earth...

They will ignore you.. and will contact you only when they need money... my horrible experience with them is beyond compare...

To all people.. save yourself from all the trouble.. just open the CIC website.. and the instructions in there is as clear as the sky!... be brave.. you don;t need a lawyer!.. they need you because they need your money...
