I am inviting a girlfriend from the Philippines to come visit me in Toronto for several months. She would never qualify on her own, but I will support her financially. I hear they are likely to deny her "Temporary Resident Visa" application anyway, out of fear she would not return.
I read somewhere that I could pay a deposit to guarantee that she returns. If she leaves as scheduled, then I get my money back. Otherwise, I would lose it.
Can you tell me details on that? Who do I pay, when and where? Do I set that up ahead of time and include the receipt or other evidence of payment with the visa application which she brings to her interview? How many dollars would they expect in order to feel comfortable approving her visa application?
Thanks,
John

??? (in reply to: Posting a Deposit) I don´t think that works or that it ever was in force. If Posting a deposit is possible everyone would do that (well almost everyone - borrow and deposit)
