Subject: Preparing Appeal
Hello, I am married to an arab muslim from Yemen. We married in March 2007, my husband had his interview in Yemen Feb. 2008 and we received the refusal letter May 2008.

We have registered our appeal and I had my pre hearing scheduling meeting, our appeal hearing is set for January 2010.

We were refused because I am older than my husband, 22 years and although this sounds like alot, we are very compatiable. I was previously married to an Egyptian man who was killed in 2004. Also, in the refusal letter the immigration officer stated that "it is uncommon for muslim man to marry older woman", which is discrimination.

I am currently getting my additional documents together (telephone records, emails, chats, travel documents for trip to Cairo with husband in August 2009) and will be sending into immigration shortly.

I am in Edmonton, Alberta and need to locate a lawyer or consultant that will not lie to me or cost me a fortune.

Can you help?

Sorry but my neighbor has that name and I can ..... her because she is negative.

Most Consultants charge $3,000.00 for a full appeal.

You decided to do your ADR alternate dispute resolution by yourself and you lost.

Now you want cheap and not good.

Some good ones will do it for $2,000.00 and are worth every penny.

What one calls a fortune others call a wise investment.

Just ask your pillow your hugging instead of him.

Hi Roy

I´m not sure what you are saying, but I didn´t do an ADR - please re-read my information.

Our case is in a half day hearing scheduled for Jan. 19th, 2010. I am looking for someone who knows of or can recommend an immigration consultant in Edmonton. Someone with experience and success at the appeal process, particularly with a case dealing with discrimination and an age difference between husband and wife.

Nancy full hearings are half days!

Age difference depends an awful lot on the country where the applicant is from. In certain societies no big deal but in others virtually unheard of!

I see who I can find.

in the mean time, start researching how he can come on his own merits. If he qualifies... CIC may take a different perspective on your family class sponsorship - especially if he does not ´need´ you to immigrate.

Hi Roy, thanks and yes, a full hearing is only half a day, actually only 3 hours or so. Thanks for your help.

Hi Sharon, once you apply for sponsorship the spouse is not entitled to apply for another status (skilled labourer, tourist visa, etc) although my brother married from the Ukraine and his wife got a visitors visa after they sponsored and she is here now. My husband has applied for jobs here in Edmonton and vice versa and I have these documents in support of our case but an employer is not likely to help us. Thanks for your idea.

Before you jump all over crying discrimination, know that in Arab tradition, ripe old men marry young pubescent girls. A prime example is the Prophet Moe... I have worked in Saudi and Yemen and I can assure you, your boy, as loving and feeling as he is, may move on with his life if he arrives here. How did you get that Egyptian killed? Wrongful behavior? Please befriend Sharon; she has younger Arab men like yours visiting her now and then... and she hopefully helps you out. Regarding the CIC opinion that Arabs customarily do NOT marry older or very old women, they are right! Just don´t take it personally, it is a cultural thing.

You are such an idiot, ignorant bas****
Arabs are, like any other cultures, have their own flaws, bad apples and good apples. Arabs are more honoured, honourable, than what an idiot, like you, can think.
Arabs are not double standrad as you are, as your rotten culture. Arabs don´t have tooooooooooooo many single mums left behind with kids who have never known their fathers.....Poor kids can never feel secured from such irresponsible fathers (animals like yourself).
You are a disgrace and you should be banned from this site

Costs...this just shows that you know nothing about different cultures. Is proves you are ignorant of people, of the world, of cultures and certainly of manners. I don´t have to answer this but obviously you are racist and my first husband, who was proud to be Egyptian and Canadian was a great man. He was a victim of crime and died while trying to save someone´s life, that person lived because of his effort.

As you are a foreigner you lived in a compound in KSA you proved that you know nothing about real life in Saudi culture. Saudi´s are not Egyptians or Yemeni and each culture is different. Just like I am proud to be Canadian and not American.

You showed us all that you are an ignorant, stupid man who wants around with his eyes closed and how sad for you.

What ever you do, for the sake of the human race please don´t reproduce.
