So if me and my Canadian fiance got married next fall in the U.S. without any visas... just visiting and then he leaves for Canada after without me. Would I have to wait until all of the applications for permanent residency in Canada has been processed? So I would be without my husband for a year or so? And we also met online, and we have not been living together for a year, so does that mean that he cannot sponsor me? Or does that not matter?

(in reply to: Applying for Permanent Residency) If you are legally married, he can sponsor you.
Are you a US citizen? If you are, you may visit your husband while the application is in process or he can visit you down in the US while CIC makes a decision in your application.
Cheers,
Bill
