Subject: LMO Advertising Requirements
I am working as an Engineer in Alberta and my company is in the process of filling out an LMO so that I can extend my stay (I´m currently on a BUNAC/SWAP visa).

I know that they have to prove that they advertised for the job and, depending on the what NOC code the position comes under, have to advertise for a certain length of time. However, what I am not sure of is how recent the job has to be. In my case, the job was advertised and I applied for it in May 09 but heard nothing. Then in September 09 they called me, I was interviewed and hired in the same month.

I am now worried that, although my company has legitimately selected me as the better qualified candidate, my LMO will be rejected on the grounds that the recruitment effort (job ad) was not recent enough.

Does anyone know the answer to this?

The Federal Job Bank is free put in on there for two weeks and in some paper or internet job bank plus show the previous stuff.

You will have to leave and come back in, I hope you understand that part. aka Regulation 11
