Subject: Unemployment benefit
We have been in Canada for the past four years. My wife and I started working one month after landing. Life has been plain-sailing until the recent credit crunch. For the past two months my wife has been out of job. She wants to apply for unemployment benefit until she gets a new job offer. However, we are wondering whether this could in any way affect her citizenship application, which we submitted six months ago. Any advice will be highly appreciated.

Red Sky at Night - SAIL ON!

EI or Employment Insurance is just that (Insurance) for times like this. You paid in you take it girl its yours and here is hoping that next weeks interview will be successful.

As long as you prove your a resident and residing here is all that Citizenship cares about.

Wishing you all the best.
