Subject: Skilled worker French skills - need for a test?
I got a question regarding language proficiency on the Skilled Worker application form. I studied French to A-level stage (that is the last exam you do at secondary school in Britain, and is usually used to determine what university you then go to) back in 1996. It was one of the 3 subjects I studied to A-level (3 subjects for A-level is standard practice in the UK). I got an A grade (the highest mark).

So here´s my question: Will the documents I have from the exam board showing my grade be sufficient as proof of proficiency? Or is 1996 too long ago and will I need therfore to do a language test with one of the approved agencies?

Just for the record, my French is a little rusty, as I haven´t used it actively in a while, but I wouldn´t say it is beyond a little brushing up...

Just attach all the documents you have for frenc skill but I say do not hope for the best points. Give it a try with the minimum points.

Secondly write a covering letter about your English skills and French skills. That should do the job.

As long as you are going to claim all 8 points of frenc you should be okey...
