Subject: Proofs for 1st contact of sponsor (spouse )
Hi. This link was given to me by a friend and found it very helpful. I just got married last month and my husband who is a canadian (presently in canada now. He left for canada 2 weeks after our wedding and honeymoon)is applying for a sponsorship for me. We were adviced by a few friends that we dont need agencies to help us but now that we both have the application forms, we are having a few problems. Me and my husband was introduced by my bestfriend who is his co-worker thru phone and became good friends for a few months before we started out a relationship online. He came here in the philippines for the first time a month before our wedding to propose and went to different places and took lots of pictures. The problem is, we dont have any chats printed out and phone bills for our first talk/introduction because my computer has been reformatted and I lost all the data, also, i changed my messenger account when he became my boyfriend because i dont want any other guys to contact me except for him. For the phone bills, we were both using prepaid phones the time we started talking summer of last year. We just became boyfriend-girlfriend early this year. Now problem is, my application form IMM 5490 ( sponsored spouse/partner questionnaire) is asking for a specific date of contact with my sponsor (w/c is my husband now) and a specific date of our intoduction which we both cant remember. My bestfriend who introduced us is trying to remember when it is but still, we wont have any supporting documents. Are proofs of this needed? We have a lot of pictures w/ friends taken and a few letters, cards and emails during the time we already had a relationship. I really need your help. We want to be together so soon already coz we both miss each other already. Thanx!!! Sorry for the long post

Laughing out Really LOUD.

DIY

"We were adviced by a few friends that we dont need agencies to help us" BUT you say, "I really need your help"

So which is it?

What you need and what others need is two totally different things. Not two spousal applications have the same circumstances!

You have no proof of a relationship growing over time, hmmmm will CIC think you paid your sponsor to marry you??? Husband flies to Manila and you have a bunch of photos so maybe you only met two weeks before the wedding!

First contact is an approximation, give them month and year.

Do It Yourself but remember me for the Appeal when your refused.

We got a Filipino who married a Jamaican approved without an interview and it takes an effort and knowledge to get around the things your lacking to prove your relationship.

proofs for estimation (in reply to: Proofs for 1st contact of sponsor (spouse ))
Hi. Sorry about how our friends had adviced us. I didnt mean to say that i wouldnt ask for ur help. I just wanted to share how we were wrong to believe everything other people are telling us or advicing us to do. And yes, I really do need ur help. We have proofs of our relationships like emails, letters and chats from skype a few months after we knew each other w/c was around june or july of last year but what we dont have is the specific date of the first time we had contact with each other before we met in person w/c the form IMM5490 question#1 is asking. If i give an approximate, wouldnt they be asking for proofs like phone bills?wouldnt it be considered falsifying data/response if i do that? Thanx.

What I don´t understand why you can´t see common sense. I´ll try to show you what I mean.

When introduced through a friend or relative how would any one remember the (day) they were introduced.

I do believe in love at first sight but not HELLO! Come on common sense has to prevail.

CIC is referring to first contact not when you met in person.

Hello Tom from Medicine Hat told me to give you a call because your into the same stuff that I like. My name is _____ and Tom said you like to play the online game called BANG.

"yes I like playing BANG"!

Like anybody would remember the day of that first uncomfortable conversation.

Common sense give them the approximate time and what CIC is looking for is how long between that date (first contact) and when this guy flew half way around the world to meet you.

Proposal then wedding etc. Plus how soon he returned to Canada and whether anyone went with him to meet you since he obviously was seriously considering marriage.

Now you claim he proposed while visiting his first trip which is better then over the phone.

BUT

There was no second visit before the wedding that seems to be rushed based on your time line.

ACCOMMODATION - COHABITATION????

Your from a country where many want out, that is one strike against you even before you fill in any forms.

There is a logical way to approach this and your way.

When a Brit, a Dane, a Spaniard or an American marries a Canadian there is little reason to suspect a MOC.

When a Filipino, Haitian, Cuban, Russian, Peruvian etc. weds a Canadian all the questions of how they met and the applicants motives come into play partly because of the economical situation of that country or the past history of other applicants from those countries.

Search here for Magoo who is a Canadian who has submitted a spousal sponsorship and read his evidence that he has to prove his relationship. Somebody said he had a weak case and would never say why!

Read these

Now is your case a weak case???? I never thought Magoo´s was and it is now in Manila being processed. Some people ask a question and understand others don´t.

Regardless of your personal circumstances if anyone including you thinks that something could be interpreted suspiciously EXPLAIN the logic in great detail regarding that point.

I try to back my opinion up with logical comments and if your offended I´m sorry. I think it is better to be a little upset now then having to appeal later. Focus on your time line!

Wishing you all the best.
