Subject: marriage delima
  Hi,
I want some help from all you experts.
A marriage proposal has been received by my sister by a man from Toronto through a matrimonial site. He is living in Canada for 13 years. His parents were Indian and he born in Uganda. He is divorcee, now living separately. Custody of his two children is with his wife. He is saying that he will marry my sister and after that he will apply for my sister’s visa from India as her fiancée but not as his wife. Logic behind this is that all his relatives are living in Canada and U.K. and nobody will be able to join marriage ceremony. His logic made us doubtful. Is this possible u think as he is saying or something ………………
Please give helpful suggestions.
Thanks and regards

So, basically, he is gonna lie CIC that she is his fiance rather than wife? What he is gonna do once she arrive in canada? Live as a conjugal partner for the rest of his life? All the excuses he is giving, to me, are kind of smokescreen to hide his agenda. And Honestly, I´m baffle to hear that you sister considering on things like this. I mean why would she even want to marry a guy whom she´d never met. It´s like a hookup for marriage rather than for sex. You don´t know the guy. He may be abuser or even a human trafficker. You´d never know. Don´t do it just for the sake of coming to canada. It just not worth it.

Wake up, there is no such a thing as "fiancee visa". That type of visa no longer exists in Canada. Either she applies as a full blown family member or not.

Try to do the things in a legal and conventional way just for a change would ya?

To me, the guy in Canada seems suspicious. Why would a guy marry some girl in India and tell immigration authorities that she´s his fiancee? Whether or not to pursue matrimonial alliance of your sister with him is your personal decision. I were in your place, I would have said no to the marriage right away on the grounds of suspicion. However, you may ask that guy in Canada to provide you with copies of his passport, landing paper, previous marriage and divorce certificates. I am sure he wont.
