My husband and I are going to sponsor my parents to immigrate. I was so disappointed when I found out he could not co-sponsor because of the court order of his child support($400/month)from previous marriage. How can I make it work? I need help,thanks.

A court order for child support is very common, unless his court order was because he refused or failed to pay which prompted the local provincial ministry to seek an order from the Department of Justice to compel him to pay - if that´s the case, you may be in a bind. If I´m in your shoe, I will go-ahead, apply and explain the court order and that spouse is complying ... in good behavior etc. and even with court ordered payment, is still able to meet low income cutoff ... and if the application is refused, appeal. And the other option, YOU to sponsor on your own if you meet the low-income cut-off.
