Subject: WHAT TO EXPECT INTHE INTERVIEW AT LOCAL CIC?
Any help by anyone who has been through this would be highly appreciated.

My husband is a Canadian PR since 2005.
We got married in 2006 and lived together outside of Canada from apr 06 - apr 08.

We then came to canada together in May 08. He sponsored me for PR in Dec 08. (we did not do it earlier as we had to attend my sister´s wedding in Nov outside of Canada).

Our case has been trf to vancouver CIC in june 09. No AIP was recd from Vville. The status is "in process".

We are expecting to be called for an interview when our case is reviwed(as per the letter from Vville that we could be called for one) and were wondering if anyone who has been through such an interview can advise us on what to expect?

Thanks a bunch!!

Hi

It is hard to guess in your circumstances, giving the little information in your post. Normally when the file is transferred to local office before AIP, it means theer are some question marks regarding your realtionship. Is it a "genuine marriage? or is it a marriage for convenience?". This is what is there in the mind of the IO who revied your initial application in VVile. So, be confident and be prepared to make every effort to convince IO of your genuine marriage and relationship. There is something in your application that they want to clarify.

The other small possibility, is that they could have sent you AIP long ago and was lost somehow. and that you may be going for final landing interview. But as said, this is a slim possibility, and you are onviously following application progress online.

Good luck

THank you (in reply to: WHAT TO EXPECT INTHE INTERVIEW AT LOCAL CIC?)
Thank you so much for your response!

I agree with your assessment.

The other possibility i am considering is that perhaps they want to know why i entered on a visitor via and then applied for PR while in Canada. DO you think they take it as perhaps not being the ideal / correct way of going about the process?

No,

it is all about the relationship, (genuine or for convenience). So be it..... and be prepared

What to expect (in reply to: WHAT TO EXPECT INTHE INTERVIEW AT LOCAL CIC?)
I am going to be going in for my interview with my wife tomorrow. I am really nervous about it as I have been reading a lot of posts on here. My wife and I met online and we got married here in Canada.

I am from the states and do not have any criminal background or anything to keep me from being a resident. Is this interview just to convince them of the marriage?

i am as clueless as you! from the responses i got to my question it seems like it is pretty much a relationship interview. although we have been married since 2006 and submitted a lot of photo evidence and joint property and bank account papers... i am baffled as what there is to doubt.

Be brave, tell the truth and be prepared. i would suggest you do a mock interview with your spouse or lawyer.

Good luck and do update us on what happened and how did it go..

We´ve done so many practice runs. It´s just so ....I´m not even sure what word I can use to describe it, but I´m sure you know what I mean.

Once it´s all over, I´ll see if I can post a reply letting you know how it was. I just pray everything goes ok.

Good luck with your immigration stuff

the officer will ask you questions to verify your relationship is genuine, nothing else, proves is a most, separately each of you. dont lie and everything will be fine.

you wont get a response right away, after the interview you have to wait for some weeks to receive a letter from CIC to let you know.
